Dairy-Free Diary: Post I


Sigh...
I've been intentionally avoiding dairy for a couple of days now, and I have to say that it SUCKS.
I miss cheese.
I miss yogurt.
I miss ice cream (which also happens to be my favorite food!).
And even the things that I love that aren't obviously dairy products all seem to contain some dairy.
I'm sure I will be able to adjust but I'm still getting used to reading labels and looking for allergens. And I just found out that I should also be avoiding goat's milk, and of course my soap is goat milk soap (which is probably the cause of my skin going haywire lately).
Growing up without allergies was definitely something I took for granted. Now I'm on guard like secret service.

On the up side, I haven't broken out or begun itching right after eating every meal like I had been.

  1. Have you tried soy products? I love WholeSoy & Co. lemon soy yogurt. Its really creamy like a pudding.

  2. I have! But I try to avoid soy because it messes with my estrogen levels. I try to use almond milk as a replacement instead.
